BACKGROUND
Mubuyu Christian Academy (MCA) is an initiative of CHRESO Ministries, Lusaka, and enjoys the respectable directorship of Rev. Helmut Reutter, Senior Pastor of Gospel Outreach Fellowship. It is registered with the Ministry of Education as a Private Secondary School.

The school was established to with the purpose of providing excellent educational services from grade 8 to 12. It operates with the motto: Excellence Through Christian Education. It is located about 12 Km from Siavonga town in the Southern Province of Zambia and is blessed with a good scenic beauty of the shores of Lake Kariba.
Girls’ Boarding School It is a girls’ boarding school that began two years ago. The school’ student population is derived from different parts of the country.

MCA is committed to reach the girl child and ensure that she attains a solid foundation of higher education and life. MCA is dedicated to the preparation of the girl student for a thoughtful and productive life of Christian faith and service. This is done through teaching, service, spiritual formation and student participative development in matters that are tailored for a holistic development of a student.


ENROLLMENT
classroom & pupils
MCA welcomes applications for admission from all pupils of different backgrounds provided they meet the minimum requirements in terms of examination results at grade 7 and 9. Enrolment is on a rolling system - done all year round.
All transferred students are expected to take a standard diagnostic test that reveals their areas of academic weakness before they step into their appropriate performance grade.

ACADEMICS
Over the last few years, MCA has focused on building up a sharp edge in its service delivery in order to have a thriving education. This could be evidenced in the notable progress of its pioneer students.

 

Children are trained to be faithful stewards of the Lord Jesus Christ. Academically, MCA follows the Zambian curriculum and pupils are prepared to sit for the Examinations Council of Zambia –ECZ- exams taken at grade 9 and 12 levels.

PROGRESSION BY ACHIEVEMENT
Progression from one grade to another is based on achievement not chronology. Promotional examinations are administered to non-exam classes at the end of the year. Students are expected to measure up to the minimum set standards in these exams for them to proceed to another grade. Grade nine students sit for normal Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) exams

FEES
MCA has kept its fees relatively low to enable as many children as possible have access to excellent education. Details of the fees may be collected from the contracts given in this brochure.


SCHOOL CALENDER
The school has three terms in a year. April, August and December are normally holidays.

DORMITARIES
There are four hostels equip[ed with strong double bankers and comfortable mattresses. They are always kept clean with well-maintained ablution blocks. Construction for additional blocks is in progress.

DINING HAL
MCA has a spacious Dining Hall. Qualified personnel run it and students are served with four meals a day.

EXTRA CURRICULAR
Tuesday afternoon is specially set aside for the purpose of extra curricular activities. Students are required to belong to at least one club in which they are expected to make a meaningful contribution.
